A collaboration between Teemu Keisteri & Annick Ligtermoet (www.annickligtermoet.com)

'Mitä Voin Odottaa Elämältä?'* is the first collaboration between Teemu Keisteri and Annick Ligtermoet. The series shows a collection of photographs gathered in both Finland and The Netherlands. While in one of the countries nature overwhelms its inhabitants, the other hardly owns any savage nature at all. In this series the wild and the natural are blended into one, almost erasing the civilized world and leaving the photographer and his subjects in an isolated area.

The photos are mounted on wood and are all of the same size (13 x 19 cm). The first show was held at Kalleria in Helsinki, Finland.

*The title of our series is borrowed from the lyrics of 'Liian Myöhään', as written by Freeman in 2010. Translated it means 'What can I expect from life?'.

I have only been hired to a “real job” once in my life. I worked in an amusement park and though I’ve always considered myself an honorable person I later noticed that I felt the urge to somehow protest against the unfair deal between me and the company.

How much of us is defined by what we do? How much of me is gone if I get fired? How can I, and should I, assure myself that I’m not replacable at any moment?

Pictures of me replacing you. Just for a minute. How does it feel? After all, I am anybody—prepare to pack your stuff.

Images shot at actual workplaces by the person whose job I am mimicking, exhibited as an installation with photographs and video interviews of the employees.
