The second-year photographers of The Institute of Art and Design have released their traditional photographic calendar for the year 2011. The new black and white calendar, called Alavalla Maalla, gives a taste of the look, feel and language of the vast land on Finland.
The photos tell small stories of twelve different regions of this Nordic and remote country. The places picked at random, unknown beforehand to the photographer and each smaller than the next are pictured in their famous summer attire. The calendar advances from the southern archipelago to Lapland, and from eastern Slavic front to the marine west, and covers here and there in between. The calendar gives the viewer an intimate access to the passing of the long luminous days of summer in Finland.
The price of the calendar is 20 euros (plus 2,50 euros for shipping in Finland or 5 euros for shipping abroad). You can order your copy here: www.alavallamaalla.com
